BAYONNE, NJ – Bayonne Medical Center was recognized by the New Jersey Healthcare Quality Institute (NJHCQI) during their Quarterly Quality Breakfast on Tuesday.
The NJHCQI’s quarterly breakfast included an interactive forum and touched on multiple topics including the 2018 performance metrics for The Leapfrog Group’s Top Hospital Ratings, as well as the upcoming changes to the 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Survey and Ratings Programs. Leaders of New Jersey’s Top Hospitals discussed the best practices being implemented in their own hospital systems in order to achieve top ratings.
Included prominently in the program was Chief Hospital Executive Dr. Vijayant Singh who delivered comments on how the Bayonne Medical Center has earned the ranking of Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group two years in a row.
Bayonne Medical Center was one of only 118 hospital nationwide, 12 in New Jersey, and the only Hudson County hospital to receive a 2018 Top Hospitals Award from the national healthcare nonprofit. Only 53 of those to earn the honor were named Top Teaching hospitals. Scoring includes a number of factors including performance across many areas of hospital care including surgical quality, preventing infections, use of technology to prevent errors and reduction of C-sections and leadership policies and practices.
