John Pepen, MPP, MD is an emergency general surgeon at the Overlook Regional Medical Center.

Following his medical training, he completed a Master in Public Policy at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, with a concentration in Domestic Politics. His coursework focused on economic inequality, health disparities, as well as state health policy.

As a Senior Fellow for the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute, he brings his clinical expertise and direct patient experience in developing evidence-based programs aimed at promoting health equity by addressing social determinants of health.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Rutgers University and a Medical Degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
