Christine Ivery, MPH, CHES

Christine Ivery brings her commitment to health care equity and to addressing the Black infant and maternal mortality crisis to her role as Program Officer. She has extensive experience managing program objectives, leading teams to successful execution, and cultivating networks to address barriers that affect health outcomes.

At the Quality Institute, Christine works to advance TeamBirth and other initiatives to improve maternal infant health in New Jersey. These efforts include initiatives to strengthen support for pregnant individuals, improve communication between health care providers and pregnant individuals, and efforts to promote access and safety.

Christine earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science- Kinesiotherapy from Norfolk State University; a master’s degree in Public Health from Drexel University; and she holds a Health Education Specialist Certification (CHES). She previously worked as Assistant Director of Public Health Programs for the Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative.

Christine has been awarded the APHA CHPPD Excellence in Collaboration Award and was recognized as a Drexel University 40 Under 40 2023 honoree. She presented her TEDx Talk, “Igniting Change in the Black Maternal Mortality Crisis,” in 2022. Christine serves as Regional Director of Sisters in Public Health and the Community Health Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) Governing Counselor for the American Public Health Association (APHA). She is a New Jersey Birth Equity Funders Alliance Advisory Board member and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Social Justice Platform.
