The New Jersey Innovation Institute and the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute are partnering to help transform provider practices.
Here are four things to know about the partnership.
1. Under the partnership, both parties will make efforts to offer New Jersey physicians and other providers with tools and strategies they need to navigate the shift from fee-for-service payments to value-based care, according to the report.
2. Specifically, the quality institute will support NJII’s work as one of the nation’s 29 practice transformation networks, which are part of CMS’ Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative, Home News Tribune reports. According to CMS, the initiative aims to support more than 140,000 clinician practices in sharing, adapting and further developing their comprehensive quality improvement strategies.
3. As part of the partnership, NJII has joined the leadership council of the quality institute. Additionally, the quality institute will engage its Medicaid accountable care organizations, insurance plan members and other quality institute members and partners to support the practice transformation, according to the report.
4. Linda Schwimmer will serve as chairwoman of the NJII External Advisory Board, which will advise NJII on the work of the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative.
